RBI Assistant Panel 2025 – 650 Vacancies – Apply Online by 8 March 2026

Reserve Bank of India is hiring 650 Assistants on a panel for the year 2025. The selection will be through an online Preliminary exam, an online Main exam and a Language Proficiency Test. Applications are accepted from 16 Feb 2026 to 8 Mar 2026. Candidates must be Indian citizens, aged 20‑28 years, and hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. Exam Syllabus

The exam tests five areas inluding:
1. English Language – grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, fill‑in‑the‑blanks.
2. Numerical Ability – arithmetic, data interpretation, percentages, profit‑loss, time‑work, ratio‑proportion.
3. Reasoning Ability – logical reasoning, series, puzzles, seating arrangement, data sufficiency.
4. General Awareness – current affairs, banking & finance, economics, Indian polity, history, geography, science & technology.
5. Computer Knowledge – basics of computers, MS Office, internet, email, operating systems, networking fundamentals. The Language Proficiency Test (LPT) assesses the candidate’s proficiency in the official/local language of the posting state.

Exam Pattern

Preliminary (online, 60 minutes total): English – 30 MCQs (20 min), Numerical Ability – 35 MCQs (20 min), Reasoning – 35 MCQs (20 min). Total 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark; negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Main (online, 135 minutes total): Five sections – Reasoning, English, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge. Each section has 40 MCQs (1 mark each) with 0.25 negative marking. Total 200 questions.
LPT – descriptive test in the local language; duration varies by centre.

Selection Process

1. Online Preliminary Examination – qualifying candidates move to Main.
2. Online Main Examination – merit list prepared based on total marks
3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT) – candidates shortlisted from Main appear for LPT in the official/local language of the posting state.
4. Document Verification – submission of original certificates, caste/disability/ex‑servicemen certificates, etc.
5. Medical Fitness Test – candidates must be medically fit.
Final selection is based on performance in Main, LPT, and verification results.

Job Profile

Assistants work in RBI offices across the country handling day‑to‑day banking operations. Typical duties include data entry, maintaining records, processing transactions, assisting senior officers, preparing reports, handling customer queries, and supporting various departments such as accounts, foreign exchange, and IT. The role offers exposure to central banking functions and opportunities for promotion to higher grades.

Edit Window Details

An edit window of 2 days will be announced after the application deadline. Candidates can modify only the exam centre, parents’ names, and 10th/12th percentages for a fee of ₹200 (inclusive of GST). No other fields can be changed.
