The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) is recruiting 26 Assistant Environmental Engineers and 14 Assistant Scientific Officers on a temporary basis. Candidates must be Indian citizens, hold the required engineering or science qualifications, and be aged between 21 and 40 years as of 1 July 2025. Applications are accepted online from 28 February 2026 to 28 March 2026. The selection process includes a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview, with a total of 470 marks. Assistant Environmental Engineer: Environmental Engineering (70 questions, 280 marks) and General Aptitude (30 questions, 120 marks). Assistant Scientific Officer: Environmental Sciences (70 questions, 280 marks) and General Aptitude (30 questions, 120 marks). Both papers are in English and Hindi.
Objective CBT of 400 marks, 120 minutes per paper. Each correct answer awards 4 marks, each wrong answer deducts 1 mark. No negative marking for unattempted questions. Interview carries 70 marks. Total selection score: 470 marks.
Stage I – Computer Based Test (objective) worth 400 marks. Stage II – Interview worth 70 marks. Merit list prepared on combined score; candidates called for interview based on CBT performance.
Assistant Environmental Engineers will assist in environmental monitoring, pollution control measures, and implementation of environmental regulations. Assistant Scientific Officers will support research, data analysis, and scientific studies related to chemistry, zoology, botany, or biochemistry in the field of environment and public health.
