**Preliminary Exam**

1. **Preliminary Examination** – Objective test. Candidates who score above the cut‑off (approximately 15 times the total vacancies) are shortlisted for the Main exam.
2. **Main Written Examination** – Descriptive papers. Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in Paper‑I (30 marks) and in aggregate as per JPSC rules. About 2.5 times the vacancies are shortlisted for the Interview.
3. **Interview/Test of Personality** – 100 marks. No minimum qualifying marks. The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and suitability for administrative work.
4. **Final Merit List** – Combined score of Main written (950 marks) and Interview (100 marks). The qualifying paper (Hindi & English) is not counted.
5. **Document Verification & Medical Test** – After the final merit list, selected candidates undergo document verification and a medical fitness test before appointment.

5. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, and all required documents in the specified format.
6. Review the entered information carefully; once submitted, it cannot be edited.
7. Proceed to the payment page and pay the application fee (₹100 for General/OBC/EWS, ₹50 for SC/ST, ₹100 for women) using any of the online modes listed.
8. After successful payment, download the confirmation receipt and keep it safe.
9. Submit the application before 20 February 2026. You will receive an email/SMS with your Application ID for future reference.
The reservation policy follows the Jharkhand Government guidelines: SC – 15%, ST – 7.5%, EBC – 27%, BC – 27%, OBC – 15%, EWS – 5%, and 3% for other categories. Age relaxation is provided up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 2 years for EWS candidates. Women candidates get the same upper age limit as the general category (35 years) unless otherwise specified.
Admit cards will be released on the JPSC website a few weeks before the exam date. Candidates must log in with their Application ID and password to download and print the admit card. The admit card contains the exam center, date, and timings. Carry a printed copy along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre.
The result of the Preliminary exam will be announced on the JPSC portal. Candidates who qualify will be notified for the Main examination. Final merit lists for the Main and Interview stages will also be published on the official website. Candidates can check their status using the Application ID.
